GENERAL COMPETITION RULES

Entries to all competitions may be handed in up to, but not later than, the date given in the syllabus.

Any entry which has been placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd in any club competition shall not be eligible for any subsequent club competition but can be used as part of a 3 on a Theme Competition.

Electronic Image, Print and Slide Competitions


ELECTRONIC IMAGE COMPETITIONS

1.Electronic Images MUST be prepared in JPEG format with appropriate quality compression to ensure the file size does not exceed 900Kb.

2.The height of any image must not exceed 1024 pixels, the width of any image (inc. those in portrait format) must not exceed 768 pixels.

3.It is strongly recommended that the image does not include any border lines intended to distinguish it from the projection background.

4.The images should ideally be prepared with a standard colour space such as sRGB (or Adobe RGB).

5.The Author’s name and image Title should be included in the EXIF data.

6.Images may be colour or mono; digitally enhanced images are allowed.

7.Entries will be accepted on CD, memory stick (USB Pen drive) or memory card (SD, Compact Flash etc.).

8. Maximum 3 images per Author.


PRINT COMPETITIONS

1.Prints may be any size up to 20” x 16” and should bear no distinguishing marks.

2.All prints should be mounted on board not exceeding 20” x 16” in size and 3mm in thickness.

3.Up to 3 prints may be entered in any competitions.

4.Colour and mono prints may be commercially processed

5.Digital images are allowed in all print competitions.

6.Federation rules apply for monochrome definition.

7.The subject of the ‘Set Subject Competition’ will change annually.


SLIIDE COMPETITIONS

1.Up to 5 colour slides may be entered in any competition.

2.Each slide will be bound in glass, titled & spotted by a single spot on the lower left hand corner of the mount.

3.No electronic or computer enhanced images are allowed.
